GETTING INVOLVED

NEXT MEETING WEDNESDAY 13TH JUNE 6PM
UNION105/CHAPELTOWN ROAD

Come along to the meeting to help us shape the Food festival. We are looking for volunteers to help with the organisation and planning of the Food Festival.

There's three months to go, so plenty of time to plan a really brilliant event!

We'd love to hear your ideas of what you'd like to see at the Food Festival, and ways that we can use the event to promote interest in "growing your own" in Chapletown. We want to bring people together to share food made from produce donated by the local gardening community. The food will be made from recipes reflecting the diverse cultures in Chapeltown, and recipes collected and cooked will be available on the day to take away.

We want to plan a really fun and educational event, with lots of activities for children to get them involved with growing, and plenty to interest everyone - with plant and seed swops,  gardening competitions, performance art,  fancy dress, free food from different cultures to sample, freshly baked bread from different cultures, traditional games and celebrations of the time of harvest.

ALL WELCOME

COME ALONG AND HELP TO SHAPE THE FESTIVAL

Saturday 3 March 2012

Hello and Welcome

The Chapeltown Free Food Festival is being planned and organised by local residents who wish to promote and celebrate this area of Leeds in terms of the diversity of cultural influences and the place food holds in forming and maintaining communities.

Chapeltown not only boasts a huge range of ingredients and foods to buy locally, there are community gardens, a community orchard and a whole range of home growers and gardeners, producers and preservers, foragers and feasters.

The 2012 Chapeltown Free Food Festival is planned for 22nd September and will be held on Reginald Park.
